*** Event Description ***

Mothers of a child under one year of age or expectant mothers who are at least seven months pregnant can come to Breakfast with Baby at The Salvation Army in Des Plaines. Once a month they are served a hot breakfast, receive encouragement from the Bible and from conversations with volunteers. They form friendships with each other while eating together and talking about their kids. But most importantly, they receive a free package of diapers and baby wipes for each eligible child.

Donations of diapers, wipes, gently-used or new clothing, books, toys, and other large baby items such as strollers, cribs, exersaucers, bouncy seats, etc. are needed to aid these families each month.

Volunteers are needed to help sort the baby items, and to help set up the "store" once a month.

Volunteers will be paired with an athlete for the day and take them to their different events. The events can be on the track, participating in walking, running, or wheelchair events. The field they will be participating in is either tennis or softball throw. Volunteers are responsible for taking the athlete to their event and watching from the sidelines. Once they are done with the awards, they will come out, and you will take them back to our tent.

We will be making hygiene kits for Ronald McDonald House. Kits contain overnight essentials like, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, lotion, etc.
